Second, you also need to keep putting AAA batteries in them to keep the noise reduction going. I'm on amazon here looking for a new pair with a more solid design. It's really not that bad considering I've had them for four years and am prone to dropping and manhandling them. Still, if you think the muffs are too geeky, these are a good buy.
On that note, though, the cosmetic aspects of it- that is to say the plastic and the foam, could be better. So my experience in headphones is limited to the 40-100 dollar range. If I REALLY wanted to block the world out in my headphones, I'd go back to the big padded muffs. For the price tag, and the construction, these are quality headphones. Sound quality is important to me, and I've gone through a few sets over the years, but I can not bring myself to spend more than $100 on headphones, as I'm a casual listener, not a DJ or a musician. The first thing I want to say about these is that, compared with other headphones I've had, these are the second best so far. Sony still makes good products, FOR THE PRICE RANGE THEY ARE SOLD IN.There are two or three cons to these that made me knock off a star: The plastic is durable, but also lightweight, and has recently cracked due to the way the headphones swivel around all the time, putting stress on certain points in the plastic. The "noise reduction" feature is silly, too, apparently it's just the headphones playing a low level of white noise.
Those are much better for that end. Personally, I like a good set of headphones. Don't listen to the Sony haters. And last but not least, the padding on the headphones came off after a couple years, and I had to replace it with craft felt, and though that works and feels just fine, it was kind of annoying.Long story short: Good mechanical product, STILL going strong sound-wise with a piece of duck tape on one edge and craft felt where the ear foam used to be.
The headphones do work when they are not defective, but the noise cancellation is not even close to a Bose headphone. Expect these Sony's to fail at some time. I can't recommend these to anyone. I am on my third set after returning two to Wally-world because of defects at the time of manufacturing. oh, I did mention they are cheaply made didn't I.
That being said, it gets worse. Luckily, I saved my receipt and now I am stuck with a non-working set. I guess you get what you pay for. Save your money and get something that may cost a bit more but offer more to you. First, let me say that these headphones are terrible in sound quality.
One set was DOA the minute I opened the box and the other worked fine for about 3 weeks. They are cheap, have very short lifespan, don't really work that well and are cheap.
These were my first noise cancelling headphones and I still use them to listen to music. The bad:The noise cancellation isn't really working. I did give it 3 stars instead of 2 because for the price they seem 'OK'. The good: These are decent headphone. These headphones work well as headphones but they don't deserve the title 'noise cancelling headphones'.
Definatly recommend getting this product The reason is that the actual headphones feel kind of cheap and everytime you hold them in your hands, they would break or something. I stumbled upon these by accident at a store and they were on clearance. But thats not the reason why i gave it a 4 star. When you turn on the noise canceling on them, they do work. You just sink into the music that you are listening to. I looked over the specs on it and found that for the price, they were actually really good. bucks so a little better then what amazon sold them for.Anyway, when i got home, i was supprised that it didn't come with the battery for the noise canceling, which kind of upset me because usually you would get all the parts with a product.
But the sound quality, is amazing. If you are looking for sound quality, these definatly have it. Another reason why i bought them is because I do travel around and i wanted to have headsets better then the ones that you get on the plane. I do some traveling and wanted some light headphones that have noise canceling. I bought them for like [.]. Not as much bass but the highs are amazing and the sound quality is very good.
No more. Right away, the headphone jack began to fail and rendered the product useless. I'm from the generation that remembered Sony as a quality product. Like several other Sony products I've purchased recently, they disappoint.
